Team & Organization

Manage your organization, invite team members, and control access with role-based permissions.

SerpWise uses an organization model to group domains, rules, and team members under a shared workspace. All billing, domains, and settings belong to the organization — not to individual user accounts.

Organization Roles

Every member of an organization has one of three roles:

RoleDescription
OwnerFull access. Can manage billing, delete the organization, and manage all members including other admins.
AdminCan manage domains, rules, redirects, and members. Cannot access billing or delete the organization.
MemberRead-only access to all domain data and analytics. Cannot create, edit, or delete any resources.

Inviting Members

To invite someone to your organization:

  1. Go to Organization SettingsMembers
  2. Click Invite Member
  3. Enter the person's email address and select their role
  4. Click Send Invitation

The invitee receives an email with a link to accept the invitation. If they don't already have a SerpWise account, they'll be prompted to create one as part of the acceptance flow.

Invitations expire after 7 days. If an invitation expires, you can resend it from the Members page.

Managing Members

From the Members page, owners and admins can:

  • Change a member's role — click the role dropdown next to their name
  • Remove a member — remove their access to the organization (their account is not deleted)
  • Resend an invitation — for pending invitations that haven't been accepted

An organization must always have at least one Owner. You cannot remove or demote the last remaining owner. Transfer ownership to another member first before leaving the organization.

Organization Settings

Access organization settings from Settings in the sidebar or the organization menu.

From settings you can:

  • Rename the organization — update the display name
  • View your organization ID — useful for support requests
  • Manage your subscription — upgrade, downgrade, or access the billing portal
  • Delete the organization — permanently removes the organization and all associated data (requires owner role)

Deleting an organization is irreversible. All domains, rules, redirects, analytics data, and billing records are permanently removed. Make sure you've updated your CDN routing before deleting to prevent traffic errors.

Multiple Organizations

A single SerpWise user account can belong to multiple organizations. This is useful for:

  • Agencies managing separate organizations per client
  • Consultants who need access to multiple client accounts
  • Large teams who organize different business units into separate workspaces

Switch between organizations using the organization selector at the top of the dashboard sidebar.

Platform Admin Role

Separately from organization roles, SerpWise user accounts have a platform role:

  • User — the default for all accounts
  • Admin — access to the SerpWise platform admin panel (internal use only)

The platform admin role is not related to organization roles and is managed by SerpWise staff.
